Baseball

Baseball is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams, typically consisting of nine players each. It is played on a field with a diamond-shaped layout, featuring four bases: first base, second base, third base, and home plate. The objective of the game is for one team, the offense, to score runs by hitting a pitched ball with a bat, running around the bases, and returning to home plate. The other team, the defense, aims to prevent runs by getting offensive players out through various means such as catching batted balls, throwing to bases, or striking out batters.

Baseball is known for its unique rules and terminology, including concepts like innings, strikes, balls, and outs. The game is typically played over nine innings, with each team having a turn to bat and a turn to field in each inning. The team with the most runs at the end of the game wins.

Originating in the United States, baseball is often referred to as “America’s pastime” and has a rich history and culture associated with it, including famous players, legendary teams, and significant events, making it a major sport in various countries around the world.
